Think Like God

I believe it is possible to capture the thoughts of God. To do so we must be ready to be driven out of our minds, because the thoughts of God are certainly going to blow our minds and disrupt our human way of thinking.

Remember God said His thoughts are higher than the heavens. In capturing the thoughts of God we must be ready to deal with a higher way of thinking that is going to transport us into another world and teach us to think outside the physical laws. Our five senses place limits on our cognitive capacity when we try to obtain God’s thoughts (Isaiah 55:8).

We are dealing with a limitless God, a God that is not a man; He said “I do not think like man, I do not act like man”. There is obviously a God-way of thinking and a God way of doing things. The challenge then is for us to learn how to capture the God way of thinking while we are still confined to our way of thinking.

There is always going to be a battle between my way of thinking and the God way of thinking. How do I overcome this when my human thoughts are still necessary while I am here in the earth realm? The primary question then becomes when do I need to initiate the God way of thinking? Can I switch from my mind to His?

As humans, we do things that are morally in line with the teaching of God. On the other hand we struggle daily with actions and thoughts that go against the teaching of the Word of God. This is when we need to cast down our arguments and replace every “high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bring our thought into the captivity of the obedience of Christ”. (2 Corinthians 10:5). We are actually replacing our ideas for His, and applying His ways while abandoning ours.

Here is a simple exercise, the next time you start thinking about something negative, change that thought and think about something in the Word that is opposite. This is one way to train your mind to think like God. You must affix your mind to something that is in the Word. If you start exercising yourself in this practice you will begin to see blessing, better living and favour come into your life. You will begin to see vineyards you didn’t plant and houses you didn’t build (Joshua 24:13).
